HIGH SCHOOL
Outdoor track begins this week for most high schools, which means its time to GEAR UP!!!! The New Jersey Runnning Company is your number 1 destination for all gear, spikes, shoes, and accessories.
Our friends at the Westfield Running Company are hosting a Gear Up Night for local schools. There will be great deals on gear for all athletes as well as a special guest appearence by 2012 Olympian Donn Cabral. The Summit Running Company will also be hosting a Spike Night for high school athletes on Tuesday March 17th. A representative from Nike will be there with free give aways. For the spike night in the fall he had awesome printed t-shirts and will likely have something similarly awesome for the spring season. All are invited to attend and partake in the awesome deals.
Local Races
The Morristown St. Paddy’sDay 5k is this saturday, packet pick up starts Wednesday at the Morristown Running Company. More info on the race here: http://runmorristown.com/
The NYC Half-Marathon is this Sunday. 2012 Double Gold Medal Winner Mo Farah is running the race as prep for his Marathon debut in London later in the year. You can watch the race live online starting at 7am. Good luck to all the local competitors and dont forget to stop in at the Summit Running Company for all your pre race needs. Plus you can talk strategy with Jacob, the winner of the 2014 Hyannis Marathon.
College
Division I NCAA Indoor Nationals are this weekend. The meet can be watched live online and features many of the best athletes in the country.
Pro: The indoor season came to a close with the World Indoor Championships. Highlights for the US include a Gold Medal in the Womens 800 by Chanelle Price, a silver in the Mens 3000 by the ageless wonder Bernard Lagat, and a world indoor record in the 4×400 for the US Mens team.
